We offer these packages on our farm in Limpopo, South Africa, where you’ll find a diverse range of game and a welcoming environment. Additionally, we provide opportunities to hunt at our exclusive concessions in Botswana, Mozambique, and other select locations. It is preferable to hunt in South Africa over the winter months. Remember it’s the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere. Although we have seasonal exemption to hunt 12 months of the year the months of May through to early September are the coolest and driest. Over these months animals generally rely on waterholes as their primary water source, which helps us anticipate their movements.

You have committed to a long international flight, logistics and spent much time preparing for your dream trip. Have you considered an add-on? A deposit of 50% of the total package or 50% of the total accommodation is required to confirm the booking.
- Full balance of daily rates payable 60 days prior to Safari.
- All trophy fee payments and extras to be made in USD, Euros, Pounds Sterling in cash, Euros, or an advance wire transfers only.
- Deposits are not refundable but at the sole discretion of Altona African Safaris can be transferred or held over to the following season.
While all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and good health of clients will be taken. No liability will be accepted for injury, loss or illness, before, during or after the Safari. Altona African Safaris will recommend a reliable taxidermist and shipping agent. Prices are subject to change without prior notice. (Price lists are updated annually and will apply to the year if there is no signed contract between both parties.)
All clients are required to read and sign our indemnity form prior to the commencement of the safari.
Due to the extreme fluctuation of exchange rates, all contracted costs (incl. Daily rates, trophy fees & all written costs) are subject to change at the sole discretion of Altona African Safaris should the US$ to SA Rand currency buying rates of First National Bank, South Africa fluctuate/exceed SA R 15-00 to US $1-00 at the time of part payment or payment in full.
We staunch supporters of ethical hunting practices and “fair chase”. We encourage walk and stalk hunting and find this to be the most effective method of hunting down your trophy animal.
We offer Bow Hunting with use of dedicated Bow Hunting PHs. Once again the thrill of walk and stalking your quarry is immensely fulfilling. There are also three dedicated bow hides strategically located at waterholes. There are two permanent towers, which are located on busy game trails.
Long Range Rifle Hunting is also on offer through our Outfit. Hunting the valleys at Al Thandiwe just became a whole lot simpler. We have strategic locations set up around the ranch where we snipe anywhere from 350m to well of 1400m depending on your ability and Rifle set up. What makes our long range hunting so damn good is the undulating terrain of the Al Thandiwe Ranch, there must be well over 100 valleys and vantage points for the hunter to position himself for an Ultimate Shot! My personal favourite is a custom 300wsm, built here in SA by a precision Gunsmith with Kahles scope. We will discuss your weapons of choice and give you our recommendations when booking your safari.
Bird hunting is Seasonal, this means that we has PHs have to abide by the Government gazette times usually May until September (there is talk of some change) and then bag limits the number birds permitted to hunt per day. This also varies from Province to Province. To give you a quick guide Upland birds species such as Guineafowl, francolin, spurfowl and quail usually permit 10 birds per day. Again your Waterfowl birds species such as Egyptian Geese, Spurwing Geese, Duck and Teal, usually permit also 10 birds per day. Pigeons and Doves depending on the Province, range from 50 to unlimited per day.
All of our Wing shoots will include Dogs and Beaters.
