Red Lechwes are medium-sized antelopes, with males typically weighing between 150-200 kg (330-440 lbs) and females weighing between 70-120 kg (150-265 lbs). They stand around 1.1-1.3 m (3.6-4.3 ft) tall at the shoulder.
Red Lechwes have reddish-brown coats with white underbellies. Their faces and legs are darker in color. They also have distinctive white patches on their hind legs and rumps. Both males and females have long, spiral horns.
